ECF is looking for a motivated GIS/Data Intern to join its team in Brussels.

Internship description

The main task of the intern will be to assist with finding, reviewing and summarising available national data across different EU countries on:

• cycling networks (cycle infrastructure, cycle routes);
• cycle usage data (cycling mode share, counting data);
• road safety data.

The intern will also have the opportunity to experience wider policy and project work at ECF.

Who are we looking for?

We expect the candidates to:

• have a basic understanding of cycle infrastructure terminology;
• be able to open and understand the structure of GIS datasets in different formats (for example: ESRI shapefiles, geopackages, geoJSON, CSV);
• have a good command of spoken and written English;
• be able to use machine translation to find information on a website or in a document in a foreign language;
• be organised.
