POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Finance & Operations senior manager, you will oversee accounting, financial reporting (core and project funding), audits, budget management, and internal controls. Additionally, you will ensure smooth office administration. Reporting directly to the Secretary General, you will play a key role on organisational leadership and provide monthly updates.
Key responsibilities in Finance
- Maintain and develop financial systems, policies, and procedures;
- Lead on accounting matters, budgeting, financial reporting (core and donor-funded projects), and auditing processes;
- Prepare financial updates for stakeholders, including the management team, the board and audit committee;
- Manage relations with external auditors, financial institutions, members or donors;
- Monitor financial risks and compliance with Belgian regulations;
- Manage the finance team (2 members);
- Handle additional finance-related duties as needed.
Key responsibilities in Operations
- Management of operations and IT teams (4 members);
- Oversee contracts with suppliers and service providers and ensure efficient and smooth operations.
Qualifications and traits
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance, ideally in an international non-profit or a membership-based organisation (corporate experience also considered);
- Strong expertise in accounting, financial planning and analysis;
- A good command of odoo.com is desirable;
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams;
- Solid understanding of the Belgian law and regulations affecting nonprofits;
- Proactive problem-solver with strong leadership skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work within a network of multicultural staff and stakeholders;
- Fluency in English and French or Dutch is required.
