The Renewable Hydrogen Coalition (RHC) promotes the critical role of renewable hydrogen to deliver the EU’s long-term decarbonisation goals. The Coalition is the voice of leading companies, innovative start-ups, investors, and industrial off-takers all dedicated to making Europe the global leader in renewable hydrogen solutions. The RHC was established by its founding partners, SolarPower Europe, WindEurope, and Breakthrough Energy.

We are seeking an experienced EU Policy Manager to join our team in Brussels on a full-time basis. If you are a strategically minded person motivated to make an impact on EU policies and deliver results for our industry members, we would like to meet with you.

This role offers a unique opportunity to advocate for the interests of the renewable hydrogen sector and shape the future of the sector as a key solution to the decarbonisation of Europe.

You will be responsible to develop and implement RHC’s advocacy. You will report to the Managing Director and work in close cooperation with our founding partners.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing the RHC’s advocacy strategy and deliver it to shape relevant policies for hydrogen and support the RHC’s online and media presence. This includes drafting amendments to legislation, content for position papers, briefings, infographics, social media;
  • Representing the RHC and sector’s interests in meetings and at external events organised by policymakers and other stakeholders;
  • Nurturing a robust network of policymakers, companies within the hydrogen value chain, and stakeholders active in the field of industry, energy, and climate policy;
  • Organising the RHC’s internal meetings and external events as required, including our flagship Annual Renewable Hydrogen Summit.

Mindset and skills:

  • Excellent team-work and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in verbal presentations;
  • Positive and proactive mind-set. Capable of being flexible and adaptable.

Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in EU Public Affairs, shaping industry, climate and energy policy. Experience within one of the EU institutions is a plus;
  • Knowledge of renewables, gas and hydrogen-related policies and markets is a plus;
  • A university degree, preferably in environmental sciences, economics or political sciences.

Languages:

  • Full proficiency in English (written and spoken);
  • Another language (German notably) is an asset.
