Do you want to be part of this dynamic and passionate multi-cultural team? Are you a motivated lawyer with experience in financial services' legislation and/or compliance assessment of national legislation with solid knowledge of EU legislation? We are looking for a full-time Legal Researcher with a background in EU law for an immediate position to support our busy team, with a focus on our financial law projects. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with clients to shape public policymaking, and join an outstanding and committed multi-disciplinary team of experts.

You must have at least three years of experience in banking and finance law. At least two years of experience in the completeness and conformity assessment of national measures that transpose EU law is an added bonus.

Key tasks will include the following:

Research and development of analytical reports on European law, especially (but not only) in the area of financial services legislation;
Managing/supporting the management of projects to budget while ensuring that deadline and quality objectives are met, and supporting the coordination of multi-disciplinary teams;
Development and drafting of proposals;
Liaison and meeting with clients to review and report project progress.

The key qualifications required for the position are:

At least a master’s degree in law from an EU university;
Good knowledge of EU legislation and/or strong exposure to the EU institutions;
Proven expertise in at least one EU country’s legislation;
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in financial services legislation and/or compliance assessments of national legislation. Candidates with project management experience and/or experience in consultancy for the EU institutions will be prioritised;
An independent, self-starter personality with a commitment to quality;
Well-organised, practical-minded and able to prioritise a busy and varied workload;
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word;
Clear, concise and accurate writing skills in English, including the ability to review and edit the work of others;
Knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
