The Renewable Hydrogen Coalition (RHC) promotes the critical role of renewable hydrogen to deliver the EU’s long-term decarbonisation goals. The Coalition is the voice of leading companies, innovative start-ups, investors, and industrial off-takers who are all dedicated to making Europe the global leader in renewable hydrogen solutions. The RHC was established by its founding partners, SolarPower Europe, WindEurope, and Breakthrough Energy.
We are seeking an EU Public Affairs and Communications Officer to join our team in Brussels on a full-time basis. If you are a strategically minded person motivated to make an impact on EU policies and deliver results for our industry members, we would like to meet with you.
This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with stakeholders and communicate the transformative power of renewable hydrogen. You will play a key role in advocating for the interests of the renewable hydrogen sector and in shaping the future of the sector as a key solution to the decarbonisation of Europe.
You will be responsible for supporting the RHC’s advocacy and communications activities. You will report to the EU Policy Manager and Communications Manager and work in close cooperation with our founding partners.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting the RHC’s advocacy work. This includes monitoring relevant EU policy developments, carrying out research tasks, drafting amendments to legislation and content for position papers, briefings;
- Supporting the RHC’s communication activities. This includes drafting content for the RHC’s regular newsletter, infographics or quotes for press, as well as updating the RHC’s website content and social media channels;
- Press monitoring and management;
- Representing RHC and sector’s interests in meetings and at external events organised by policymakers and other stakeholders;
- Nurturing a robust network of policymakers, companies within the hydrogen value chain, and stakeholders active in the field of industry, energy, and climate policy;
- Supporting the organisation of the RHC’s internal meetings and external events as required, including our flagship Annual Renewable Hydrogen Summit.
Mindset and skills:
- Excellent team-work and interpersonal skills;

- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in verbal presentations;
- Positive and proactive mind-set. Capable of being flexible and adaptable.
Experience:
- At least two years of experience in EU public affairs, working in industry, or in climate and energy policy;
- Experience in an EU trade-association, an NGO, or within one of the EU institutions is a plus;
- A university degree, preferably in environmental sciences, political sciences or communications;
- Knowledge of renewables, gas and hydrogen-related policies, and markets is a plus.
Languages:
- Full proficiency in English (written and spoken);
- Another language (German notably) is an asset.
