EuChemS, the European Chemical Society, is looking for a motivated early-career professional Science Communication & Policy Officer.

Profile:
The applicant should fulfil the following requirements:
- University degree in a relevant area, for example: European Studies, Science Communication, Political Sciences or International Relations;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is highly desirable. Additional languages are always a plus;
- Familiarity with EU institutions and the EU decision-making processes;
- Ability to communicate efficiently internally and externally in a highly international and interdisciplinary environment;
- Interest and curiosity in chemistry, science, research and education;
- Interest in working in a small team and in multitasking;
- The following IT Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in website content management (WordPress);
- Experience with mailing systems (Brevo) and social media scheduling systems (Post Planner, Hootsuite, etc.) preferred;
- Knowledge and experience with online meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams);
- Video editing and graphic design skills for designing digital communication materials (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva);
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Experience with science-policy and/or membership-based organisations/NGOs is an advantage.
Function & Responsibilities:
- Management of the organisation’s webpage, publications (online monthly magazine), social media;
- Production of communication materials including, but not limited to position papers, news articles, press releases, magazine and speeches;
- Monitoring of, and reporting on European policy topics related to the work of the association;
- Participation in science-policy activities, meetings, and events relevant to EuChemS;
- Participation in, and communication related to scientific events and conferences;
- Assisting in organising various events and meetings.
