Giacomo Brodolini Foundation (FGB) is a private and not-for-profit foundation working in the fields of human capital, employment and social policies, skills, digital transformation, innovation, urban and regional policy. With offices in Italy, Brussels, Washington D.C. and Ankara, FGB is an EU level think and do institution, providing technical assistance services, monitoring and evaluation studies, strategic advice to EU and national institutions and other public and private sector clients. We are looking for a Senior Adviser with the knowledge and expertise in our core business areas to support the growth of the activities. The work place is in Brussels.

Main tasks

The Senior Adviser will contribute to:

  • Implementation of research and analytical studies (conceptual inputs, research design and methodologies, preparation of reports, development of recommendations) including the implementation of multi-country research projects;
  • Providing overall supervision on research teams;
  • Business development in our core thematic areas;
  • Quality assurance of the work results of external experts and other staff members, including peer-review and editorial oversight of research projects;
  • Building partnerships and cooperative relationships with key stakeholders and cooperation partners, including various services within the EC;
  • Advice and active support to other research teams when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant academic field (e.g. economics, political science, management or other related fields); post graduate qualification is an asset;
  • At least 10 years’ professional experience in research organisation, EU institution or consultancy working on research projects;
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in at least two core thematic areas of FGB proven by publications and authored reports;
  • Knowledge of relevant research methodologies (e.g. qualitative and quantitative research methodologies such as questionnaire design and analysis, comparative case studies, data analysis, interviews and focus groups);
  • Experience in managing and overseeing the work of research teams;
  • Very good working knowledge of European tendering and proposal preparation process;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills;
  • Availability to travel in the European Union.
