Six months after the new Labour government called for a “gearshift” on European and global security and one month after the re-election of President Trump in the US; the shape of the UK-EU relationship on defence and security remains nebulous.
In light of pressing security threats such as the war in Ukraine, this EPC online Policy Dialogue will consider solutions to strengthen the future EU-UK relationship in defence and security, explore options for enhanced defence industry cooperation, and examine the UK’s role in the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) and NATO’s European pillar.
The event is part of the EPC’s new initiative that brings together prominent experts from the UK, the EU and wider Europe to discuss the opportunities and limitations of EU-UK cooperation in areas such as defence and security, trade and investment, education and culture, as well as global affairs.
Participation is open to EPC members only, the media, and EU officials.
