One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty.

Around the world, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them. In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organizations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.

Oxfam International is looking for a Partnership Manager to increase Oxfam’s impact, influence, and income for Oxfam’s development and advocacy programmes through its partnership with the EU. Working with the confederation members of Oxfam, this role will contribute to these goals through strategic development and management of the relationship between Oxfam and EU donors. This post will form part of the Oxfam International Secretariat’s Institutional Fundraising team, and will be based in the Oxfam EU Advocacy Office in Brussels.

The EU is the largest multilateral donor in the world, and funding from EU institutions represents about 20% of Oxfam’s institutional income. The most relevant EU institution for North-South cooperation is the DG for Development & Cooperation, also known as EuropeAid or DG DEVCO. The DEVCO office in Brussels is responsible for ensuring coherence and quality of support in funded activities. In this role as EU Partnership Manager, you will focus mainly on DEVCO, but will also be responsible for other non-Europe Aid instruments that could fund Oxfam’s work across Climate, Research and Innovation, Employment Social Affairs and Inclusion working in co-ordination with other Oxfam affiliates.

The successful applicant will have success in building and maintaining relationships with donor agencies in the European Union, with a quantifiable record of raising significant funds from institutional donors. S/he will have proven experience of leading on an organisational funding strategy, be a strong influencer with excellent communication, account management and relationship management skills (internal and external). We are looking for a strategic and analytical fundraiser, with the experience and ability to analyse the donor environment, identify trends in the market and anticipate changes. You will be value driven, accountable with a track record of stakeholder negotiation and donor leadership.

Fluency in English required and competence in French and/or Spanish is desirable.

Oxfam International Secretariat is based in Oxford, with advocacy and campaigns offices in Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, Brasilia and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.

Oxfam International is an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity within our organization.
